One of the most scenic golf courses in the UK plays host to a fundraising golf tournament for Macmillan Cancer Support next month.
On Friday 6th June, eager teams of 4 tee off for a scenic golf challenge at the 100yr old club which lies at the foot of the Rhondda Valleys.
John Satherley of Pontypridd Golf Club explains, “ we have jam-packed day planned, commencing at 10am when the teams enjoy pre-round refreshments of a bacon roll and coffee. A ‘shot- gun start’ of golf follows, then it’s back to the club house for, a bar meal and to award the much coveted prizes”.
John added, “we all know someone who has been affected by cancer, this is our chance to make a real difference to those people. Pontypridd Golf Club has a great team of dedicated members and this is our opportunity to give something back , we hope to raise as much money for Macmillan as possible as you never know when you might need their support”
Nicola Newhams, Fundraising Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support added, ‘we are delighted that Pontypridd Golf Club have chosen to support Macmillan this year.Cancer is the toughest fight most of us will ever face and the feelings of loneliness and isolation that so many people experience make it even harder. Now, more than ever, we need people like the committee and members at Pontypridd Golf Club to get involved. We rely on our supporters for 98% of our income and such donations make a real difference to those affected by cancer.”
