Young Promoters Network announce first show of 2014

10 March 2014

The Young Promoters Network have announced an exclusive show with one of Wales’ biggest musical exports of late, The Blackout.

The group of young music lovers have teamed up with Orchard Entertainment, one of Wales’ largest independent promoters, in order to bring their biggest show yet to the Rhondda.

Support acts on the line up are all Pontypridd based, and have been carefully handpicked by the Young Promoters Network for the show.

Main support comes from The People The Poet. The band will be heading out on tour with Deaf Havana straight after the show and have been selected by Huw Stephens (BBC Radio 1) as one’s to watch out for at this year’s The Great Escape Festival.

Also on the bill are Peasants King, a five piece who are setting themselves up for a big year after their triumphant performance at Reading Festival in 2013. Emerging act, Clear The Auditorium are creating a big buzz throughout the Rhondda and will be opening the landmark show.

Completing the line up are Falling With Style, who played Download Festival in 2013. Lead singer Lucas Woodland said, “Just under 4 years ago we all had the pleasure of watching The Blackout play a set in The Muni. Despite not even knowing each other at the time, it was definitely a key moment that inspired us all individually to go out and start playing in bands. Needless to say, we’re very excited to be playing alongside them on that very stage. The fact that we all grew up and still live in Pontypridd means that this show is going be a gig to remember. The prospect of maybe help saving the Muni with this show is enough for us to put our all into it!”

With recent threats of cuts to the venue looming, the passion of this group of young people proves that they won’t go without a fight! We’re expecting an action packed night of pure Welsh musical talent.
