Rhondda’s little people celebrate World Book Day

6 March 2014

Thursday 6th March saw the Rhondda engulfed by dungeons, dragons, wizards and wonderful fancy dress.

World Book Day is a celebration for those who love to read. Typically marked by bookworms getting out the fancy dress in order to look like their favourite characters.

People all over the Rhondda have been getting involved and we’ve picked some of our favourite little darlings in fancy dress, sent in to us today.

Rose – Leigh Derbyshire, age 6 from Gilfach Goch as Cinderella.

Callum Paine, age 4 from Tonypandy. Ready to celebrate as Batman at YGG Bronllwyn.

Dewi Bailey, age 2 from Tonyrefail. Dressed as his favourite character Mr Bump.

Heaven Scarlet Griffiths, aged 9 from Ystrad Rhondda looking wonderful as Little Red Riding Hood.

Harrison Cole Evans, aged 3 from Thomastown dressed as a Knight. Check out his noble steed! “WOOF”

Honey Ward, age 4 from Clydach Vale set out for the yellow brick road on World Book Day

It’s so wonderful to see the little people of the Rhondda proving their love for reading (and not to mention getting dressed up!).
