Rhondda live music champions to host charity Halloween jam night

Tonyrefail Musical Collective are set to host a ‘Halloween Jam Night’ in the town to raise money for the Cardiff ward of the young people’s cancer charity, Teenage Cancer Trust.

The group, made up of of passionate musicians and music lovers from the town, regularly puts on shows in an aim to ‘keep music live’ and allow people in the community to get involved in different aspects of the event.

The jam night will take place at Tonyrefail Working Men’s Club from 7:30pm – 11:30pm.

Nigel Baker, Tonyrefail Musical Collective member & musician said: “It’s so important for us that there is an outlet for live music in our town, there are so many musicians and music lovers that will come out and enjoy the talent that the area has on offer and that is what our group is all about.

“Any profit made from the event will go towards our chosen charity, I’ve seen first hand the amazing work the Teenage Cancer Trust, Cardiff unit does and it’s definitely a worthy cause.

The night will include music from local bands and people are invited to go along to give a performance.

There will also be competitions for best fancy dress and best pumpkin carving.

Last year, the event raised £610 for charity.

Entry for age 14+ is £3 with all money being donated towards charity. Under 18’s are welcome, although they must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
