Is access to your Woods Important to you?

1 October 2014

Welcome To Our Woods are looking for volunteers to help make a short video showing how important access to woodlands are to people living and working in the Upper Rhondda area.

They are looking for any comments or opinions from people who use the woodlands, would like to use them or any other comments about access to woodlands and green spaces Rhondda People may have.

Welcome To Our Woods are a community group in the Rhondda Fawr. Their project focuses around making Rhondda woodlands more useful and relevant to the community.

The project is funded by the Big Lottery and forms part of Interlink’s Community Voice portfolio. The project works with local people, community groups and key statutory bodies to create useful community woodland spaces and facilities, located in the Rhondda Fawr.

The completed community woodland will have space for many community users to cohabit, whilst participating in their chosen individual or group, organised or casual activity, or social enterprise. The project is being conceptualised, developed and the delivered woodland facilities maintained and worked in by supported local community members.

If you would like to contact Welcome To Our Woods you can email them on or visit their Facebook page at

Not all comments need to be filmed, audio recordings can also be taken if that would be preferred.
